The Romney/ Obama presidential elections are getting closer
every day. It’s important for
America, and the world.
I have voted in South Africa, UK and even an Irish referendum. These are some of the things
that amaze me every day about the American presidential race:
1.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. The amount of money spent by both sides.
a.
As of today, October 8th: Obama $615.6m and Romney $530.7m
b.
Super PACs have raised $315,624,814….
2.
And even with all the spending, and the ads, and
robocalls…the percent of undecided voters
3.
AND, in the land of free speech and democracy,
in 2008 only 56.8% of people bothered to vote.
What I love about the race? Comedians like Jon Stewart and Andy Borowitz
A few of my recent faves:
Andy Borowitz http://www.borowitzreport.com
- Romney: "President Obama is involved in a conspiracy to lower the unemployment rate. On Day One I'll reverse that."
- As Americans, voting is our most precious right. (Offer limited to those with valid ID. Check state for details.)
And Jon Stewart has tons of great videos: http://www.thedailyshow.com http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/thu-october-4-2012-bill-o-reilly?xrs=share_copy
